"America's future will be determined by the home and the
school. The child becomes largely what he is taught; hence we must watch
what we teach, and how we live."
Math, Science & Technology Academy Mrs. Debra Reeves, Principal

A dab of paint here and a dab there
make all the difference on a plain wall. Delta artist Cristen Barnard should
know a little about these things because she's been dabbing paint around the
Delta for quite some time now. On Thursday, Barnard completed a mural at
Weddington Elementary Math Science & Technology Academy on Sampson Road. The
image area is circular, measuring 69 inches across. The three-day project
depicts the school's mascot, a wildcat, with a more subtle touch. Since
Weddington is an elementary school, "I decided to tone down the fierce look
for a more subtle looking panther," Barnard said. (Delta Democrat Times
