Mission

The mission of Greenville Public Schools is to provide all students with a quality education that adheres to rigorous and challenging standards so that they will experience success and become productive members of society.

"America's future will be determined by the home and the school. The child becomes largely what he is taught; hence we must watch what we teach, and how we live."
Jane Addams (1869-1935)

A dab of paint here and a dab there make all the difference on a plain wall. Delta artist Cristen Barnard should know a little about these things because she's been dabbing paint around the Delta for quite some time now. On Thursday, Barnard completed a mural at Weddington Elementary Math Science & Technology Academy on Sampson Road. The image area is circular, measuring 69 inches across. The three-day project depicts the school's mascot, a wildcat, with a more subtle touch. Since Weddington is an elementary school, "I decided to tone down the fierce look for a more subtle looking panther," Barnard said. (Delta Democrat Times photo by Bill Johnson)
