Mission The mission of Greenville Public Schools is to provide all students with a quality education that adheres to rigorous and challenging standards so that they will experience success and become productive members of society.

The Greenville Public School District led the way in developing, staffing, and funding this long-needed educational service for children sent to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center. Previously, these students fell through the cracks when their incarcerations removed them from their schools. Since February 2003, the Detention Center School has provided all core studies, administered by two certified teachers. The Gregg Youth Court School keeps children up to speed with their studies so they don't fall behind and can resume their studies when they return to their home schools. The service also serve the Western Line School District, Leland School District, and the Hollandale School District in Washington County.
