Mission

The mission of Greenville Public Schools is to provide all students with a quality education that adheres to rigorous and challenging standards so that they will experience success and become productive members of society.

The Greenville Arts Council helps make this education enhancing program available to students at the Garret Hall Alternative Learning Center. It's designed to improve the learning environment for at-risk students who are over-aged and still in elementary grades and who lag behind their peers. The program brings the arts into the classroom and provides children with a way of expressing themselves, thereby helping them learn in an attempt to advance them back into the regular school population. Community volunteers come to the school for two hours two days a week to teach drama and visual arts.
