Mission

The mission of Greenville Public Schools is to provide all students with a quality education that adheres to rigorous and challenging standards so that they will experience success and become productive members of society.

Accelerated Reader is reading software utilized in all Greenville Public School Elementary Schools. It helps students focus attention on careful reading of books, which improves students' critical-thinking skills and builds the intrinsic love of reading. Accelerated Reader provides teachers with three different types of assessment to give valuable data on students' reading practice, literacy skills development, and performance on classroom assignments. Students choose books to read at their own pace. They take a quiz on the computer. Both student and teacher get immediate, individualized constructive feedback to direct ongoing reading practice.
