Mission

Dress Code Regulations
NOTE: All people entering the Alternative Learning Center are subject to
a security check.
The following regulations must be observed by all students attending the
Alternative Learning Center. Clothing should positively reflect the image of
students who are consciously aware of the impact that dress has on attitude
and behavior.
 | Not wear or bring hats, caps, or bandanas. This applies to males and
females. |
 | Not wear see-through clothing (wind suit pants or chiffon tops). |
 | Not wear clothing advertising sex, drugs, alcohol, intoxicants,
tobacco, or gangs. |
 | Not carry book bags or backpacks inside the building. |
 | Have hair styles that are neatly groomed and free of symbols and
designs. |
 | Not wear earrings or nose rings. This applies to males and females. |
 | Not have slashed eyebrows. |
 | Not wear coats and jackets inside the building. Students may wear a
cardigan sweater for comfort. |
 | Wear nails short and well-groomed. |
 | Not wear thighs or leggings. All garments must be relaxed fit. |
 | No radios, cassette players and cassettes, CD players and CDs, jam
boxes, headphones, beepers, portable phones, etc. |
 | No money except what is needed for a child that pays for lunch. |
 | If student must have a house key to return home, the key must be left
in office until time to leave school. |
 | No purses or wallets are allowed. |
 | No jewelry is allowed. Anything confiscated from the front door will
be picked up by a parent at the end of the week. |
 | Canes or walking type umbrellas are not allowed inside the school or
on the bus. |
 | Glove(s) are not allowed to be worn inside of the building. |
 | Belts must be buckled properly at all times. |
 | White/Black/Gray shoe strings only. This applies to males and females. |
 | If pants have belt loops, belts must be worn. |
 | Shoes with sock/hose/knee highs must be worn at all times. |
 | Sunglasses are not allowed to be worn inside the building unless a
physician's written prescription is on file in the office. |
 | Long pants with splits are not permitted. |
 | No pants leg can be worn rolled up. |
 | Pants must be worn at the proper height around the waist at all times
- No "low-ride" pants are allowed. |
 | All outer garments must be no higher than 2 inches above the knee. |
 | Base school colors must be the same for winter gear. Pullover sweater
and sweat shirts are permissible. No symbols, writing, etc. |

If there is any doubt, the Director of the Alternative Learning Center
will make a final judgment as to whether a student is properly groomed and
dressed.
These regulations are not designed to punish or take away a student's
freedom. These regulations are to assure all students/staff members the
highest degree of safety and create a learning environment free from
distractions.
